Cover Reveal! The Lie By: Karina Halle

The Lie AMAZONTheir love led to a lie.

Their truth led to the end.

Scottish enigma Brigs McGregor is crawling out from the ashes. After losing his wife and son in a car accident – and, subsequently, his job – he’s finally moving forward with his life, securing a prestigious teaching position at the University of London and starting a new chapter in the city. Slowly, but surely, he’s pushing past the guilt and putting his tragic past behind him.

Until he sees her.

Natasha Trudeau once loved a man so much she thought she’d die without him. But their love was wrong, doomed from the start, and when their world crashed around them, Natasha was nearly buried in the rubble. It took years of moving on to forget him, and now that she’s in London, she’s ready to start over again.

Until she sees him.

Because some loves are too dangerous to ever rekindle.

And some loves are too powerful to ignore.

Can you ever have a second chance at a love that ruined you?

The Lie is a second-chance romance with a dark, forbidden twist.

At the end of Break Me we knew there were going to be major sparks between Parker and Kelsey But their story is so much more! I honestly love their book more than Colt and Brea’s. Break Me was an awesome story and set everything up for this book but with Craving You – Ashley gives us a much deeper story and the characters are more intense. Parker and Kelsey both are serial daters and totally against having a monogamous relationship and the push and pull of them both makes this an intense thrill ride of a book.

I love Kelsey’s character and we see how her backstory affects her present situation with Parker and how He has to fight against that and his previous reputation in order to find something worthwhile with Kelsey. I was so hopeful for them when she agreed to ride with him to that first competition in but then it got a little broken during their conversation in the truck when she was trying to say she was proud of him. He can’t take someone who wants him for more than just his status as a pro rider and in his pants.  Kelsey sees Parker as so much more and it scares both of them. So it takes a while before both of them get over all of their issues. But the fight to get together is almost as sweet as the being together part. I love their snarky back and forth.

Parker’s ride to fame as a pro rider is also a pretty cool part of the story. Seeing him successful and doing what he loves and is so talented at really makes Kelsey stop and look at him differently. And it’s her support (that he constantly says is misplaced and that he’s not good enough) that really inspires him to keep improving. Also, he is making strides to keep TBX running as a successful business so he definitely is a multi tasker. Adds to his charm perhaps. The rest of the book gets pretty intense and I think you guys are really gonna love It!  Either way, for My opinion though Parker and Kelsey are on the list of my favorite book couples ever! Ashley has truly outdone herself with this book!

This was a pretty excellent New Adult read. It shows us the power of friendship between Brealynn and Kelsey (Two best friends who no matter what life throws at them they will get through it together) it also shows the tough side of love (when you find out your high school sweetheart is sleeping with your arch enemy! The popular girl who makes everybody’s life miserable unless you run in her crowd.) but now Brea is single and ready to mingle!

We start to see a different side of her character once she sets her sights on Colt. Which makes their random run in at the coffee shop during the moving in process for the new semester that much more interesting. We also get chapters from Colt’s POV and I love when authors do that! Because you get a totally different perspective on the same events. At the party there is a scene that is very remisicent of a scene from Beautiful Disaster and Black Number Four and ends with things not working out quite like they thought it was going to.

I thought that this was an interesting set up that did remind me a lot of a Jamie McGuire novel with a little but different twist with the whole pro BMX rider thing. But it’s a sport I did not know a whole lot about and so it made it an interesting read for me. I am really looking forward to book 2 in this series to see what characters pop back up and What new stories we see. This was my first read by Ashley and I know it will not be my last!

Well dealing with the aftermath of part 3 of this serial series we are at a place that I thought we would never see Mason and Red but just goes to show that even those storybook couples experience real life troubles and everything isn’t always smooth sailing. It’s how we recover from those shocking events that seperate the couples who are meant to be from those who are just in lust not love. I love this entry in the series just for that reason. Watching them fight to regain what they had before and get back to their love story made for a excellent addition to this storyline. We still have our typical funny moments and sarcastic comments (I would expect no less from this series actually haha) which add some levity to the serious situation going on here.

The farther we get into this story we really begin to see how different Red is now from the girl that we met in her wedding dress in the first book. She has become this tough character who has realized her worth and became comfortable with who She is and What she wants out of life. And I have loved seeing that transition of her character. Being with Mason has been good for her and has brought her a whole new level of confidence.

Mary Lou is actually pretty tame in this book and we don’t see quite as many quirky shenigans and plans that she cooked up to involve Red and Mason and Monroe in. I guess it shows her growth as a character too but I did miss some of her outlandish behavior in this book. I hope we get to see more of her in later stories.

The benefit baseball game is An important scene in the story and one that you definitely want to slow down and savor as you read. And the ending of This book shows us that the adventure that these characters is just beginning! I hope we get to see more of their college adventures in the future because I know even if you take away the small town these guys still can cause a ruckus in a larger town and be memorable. It’s just a change in venue haha. Way to go S.J. you have another awesome story in this amazing series!

Say A Prayer is the fourth novella in the Like A Lady serial. It cannot be read as a standalone.

It hurts. God, does it ever hurt. Having your heart ripped from its home in your chest, metaphorically or literally, isn’t a fun thing. No, it’s gruesome, and once in a lifetime was more than enough. Twice. Twice is almost unbearable. I’ll make it, though. I’m strong enough to persevere, to move on, and I will because I know that there’s no other option. I can’t stop living. I won’t stop living. ~Red

One step. Two. I’ll take it a day at a time and hope to hell the pain goes away. The thing is, I know it won’t. It just keeps getting stronger because without her love, I’m lost. And it sucks. This feeling, the loss, it’s getting worse, but what am I supposed to do about it? She won’t listen to me. Nothing I say has swayed her, not a bit. Why can’t she see I’m miserable without her? ~Mason

No Offense, Darlin’

Jake Roberson is nothing but a lying bastard. Every whisper that falls from his lips is a betrayal, but I can’t seem to convince myself to walk away. When he comes sauntering toward me, all those particulars go right out the window, and I cave. Every. Single. Time.

No more, though. I can’t. There’s too much at stake this time around, and I won’t have it.

Besides, one night with Beau, that’s all it took. I’m sunk. He was amazing in every way imaginable, and he still is. Why he likes someone like me, I can’t fathom. He’s such a good man, and he only ever sees the best in people, me included. It’s an amazing thing. The way he looks at the world, it’s like magic. Every bone, every muscle, every fiber of Beau Reed’s being is good, and he never stops proving that to me. He’s a good guy deep down in his core where it counts. I’ve always known that, even when I first met him. It’s something that radiates out from him like this big glowing light. Never have I ever met anyone like him.

But because he’s good, I have to make him go. ~Shelby

I can’t focus on anything else:
Soft, brown hair hanging in waves down to creamy skin that looks all too damned touchable.
Big eyes that could never be described with any justice, brown to green, maybe hazel, with so much vibrant light, etching them forever into memory.
Plump, smooth, kissable lips that are the stuff of fantasy, with the bottom one slightly fuller than the top, perfect.

It’s always Shelby, always been Shelby, and there doesn’t seem to be anything or anyone that can make that any different.

Except, now, there’s more at play than just her. For once, it’s not about Shelby Case, and despite my best efforts to save her, there’s things that I can’t rescue her from. ~Beau

No Offense, Darlin’ is the first Like A Lady novel. While it could be read as a standalone, for the full effect of Beau and Shelby’s backstory, the Like A Lady serial should be read as a prequel to this novel. The first part of the serial, Big Girl Panties, is free.

Mom always tells me that when life gives you lemons you squeeze the heck out of them and hope for some lemonade, but after catching that no-good lying, jerk of a bastard cheating on me seconds before we were supposed to be married, I do what any self-respecting Southern girl would do: throw a punch and hide under my blankie. Now, Mary Lou thinks I need a night of fun and adventure. I agree to go out, planning to get her off my back, but when I find myself in Mason Pierce’s arms, I’m thanking my lucky stars, and my best friend. ~Red

Freemont, Oklahoma, is the last place on the whole damned planet that I want to spend my summer and working on my parents’ ranch is the last thing I want to do, but damned if that’s not what I’m doing. Monroe and I need a night away from this place, a night to blow off steam. A party at the lake sounds like a mighty fine idea, and after catching a glimpse of Red Summers in the firelight, I’m quickly changing my tune. ~Mason

Woah! It’s the only thing that I can think because my head’s so full of Mason Pierce I can’t think about anything else. Who would have thought two weeks could change your perception so completely? Not me, but it surely has. I’m a gonner: hook, line, and sinker. There’s only one thing runnin’ around my head, and it’s Mason. I want him. Bad. It’s fun. It’s light. The sex is explosive. What more can a girl ask for? Right?~Red

My bed. My truck. And everywhere else I can think of. That’s where I want Red, and I want her there, now, without all the damned interruptions that seem to surround us. Yeah, they’re supposed to be our friends, but I’m seriously starting to wonder if they’re getting off torturing me. Because that’s what this is, wanting Red, having Red but not being able to have her, it’s torture.~Mason

It’s a summer fling; just keep telling yourself that and you’ll be alright. This thing with Mason Pierce, it’s just a fling, something fun to pass the time. He’s a rebound from the disastrous breakup, a band-aid, a patch over a wound that will help the hurt heal, right? ~Red

If someone had told me two months ago that I’d be spending the summer with Red Summers in my arms, I’d have called them crazy, but here I am and here she is. Life is just about as perfect as it can be. Except, it feels like she’s pulling away instead of drawing closer. Everyday, it seems that Red is putting more and more distance between us, and I don’t understand why. ~Mason

Lacey and her Family (with a capital F!) are at it again! A body turns up and Carlos in his infinite wisdom wants Lacey to figure out who gave the associate his cement shoes. So what’s our girl do? Grabs her cup of sugar and a few mini donuts (for strength because who knows when a girl might need a few extra calories when she’s working for the mob am I right?) and gets to work in typical Lacey fashion haha. Which means hilerious moments occur. Not intentionally though and I love that about Lacey she is the ultimate example of S*** happens! Added to her current gig for Carlos there is an added complication . . . she has to find a plus one for her cousin Vivian’s impromptu wedding! (because life isn’t difficult enough right now!) And we know from book one that her dating life has hit a few snags lately. (again not her fault!) but hope may be on the horizon 😉

All of our favorite characters are also back in action to help Lacey with her current task including Clay, Anthony and Meg and we can’t forget Carlos and Nora! And we also get to meet a few new characters such as Vivian and Joey and Alphonse who is probably the only light complected ginger Italian I have ever come across in a book! (and boy does he give our characters a run for their money! But we also get to see them impart some important life lessons as well which makes for a interesting twist in the storyline) the ending is pretty intense and is just how I would imagine a huge family wedding to be. Lots of chaos and love. We also get some interesting moments with Lacey and Anthony during the wedding weekend! (you could cut the tension with a knife let me tell you!) all in all it’s another fantastic story in this series that is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. She may have an unorthodox way of getting results but Lacey is 2 for 2 in her missions.

Review: Out Of Plans (The Mercenaries #2) By: Stylo Fantôme

Just when you thought the action and pacing of Best Laid Plans was intense you get book 2 in this hit series! And it hits you harder and faster 28th more twists and turns that leave you breathless! Out Of Plans gives us more in the saga of Lilly and Marc and Kingsley is a awesome addition to the story. He brings a dose of comedy to a serious situation by being well there really are no descriptive words to fully encapsulate Kingsley but trust me he is the character to watch in this story. Just for this little exchange with Lilly

” I don’t need lectures from someone who, up until a couple years ago, was destined to become a soccer mom. I was taking a breather, alright?” he snapped at her.” Anyone who has met Lilly knows she is one tough cookie and the fact that he has the gall to call her a almost Soccer mom is just ballsy and pretty hilarious. He shows no fear! Their interactions almost top Tate and Sanders from the Kane Trilogy (almost! Sanders is still my favorite Fantôme character!)

The farther we get into the story things really pick up! (You know, just in case you were getting bored or something. . . which I don’t know why you would be! There is so much going on!) and the Cat and Mouse game that is going on is taken to a whole new level and requires all of the mercenaries to be on the top of their game if everyone is going to survive this adventure! We get to the last few pages and well I’m not gonna spoil it for you but it is an awesome ending! If this is your first Stylo series then welcome to a new addiction! She was my first entre into dark romances and with Out of Plans she just reminded me why! With characters and storylines like these that you remember long after you finish the book and books that you recommend to (everybody! Literally!) She will become one of your automatic one click authors too!

Kill every –

This is the story of what happens when best laid plans fail, and a vengeful woman is forced to find her own way once again. A bond broken, trust shattered, and too many lies to keep track of find Marc and Lily all out of plans and running out of time. Can they find their way back to each other before trouble finds them first, or is it really the end of their journey?

If this NOVEL were a MOVIEit would have an R rating from the MPAA. Contains: Violence, Grisly Images, Strong Language, Nudity, and Graphic Sexual Content.

Shock wasn’t a big enough word to describe how Lily felt, looking up to find Marc staring at her in that ballroom. Anyone else. It literally could have been anyone else – her father, Mickey Mouse, Hitler, and she would’ve been less surprised. Marcelle De Sant wasn’t real, anymore. He was a figment of her imagination, something that usually only appeared late at night, when she was alone and missing a more dangerous time in her life.

Besides, wasn’t he supposed to be in Brazil!? Wasn’t he … anywhere she wasn’t?

Wasn’t he not quite this good looking!? It’s unfair that such a dick can be so good looking.

Dancing with her was bad enough. They’d fought, as had always been in their nature, but it wasn’t the same. She hated him. He’d lied to her, and he’d manipulated her, and he’d abandoned her. Told her she wasn’t good enough, then told her to go home. She loathed him.

And yet, his arm was around her, and his eyes were so blue, and she’d missed him so much.

Rat bastard.

And of course, along with fighting, their other old friend made an appearance – bad luck. Next thing Lily had known, she was being dragged upstairs and shoved into a bedroom. There was arguing. There was kissing.

So really, it was just like old times.

The bedroom door swung open, but she barely registered it. Marc’s hands were moving over her body, pressing down on her breasts. He moved one lower, sliding it over her hip and around to her ass, pulling her away from the wall and into himself. She ran her hands down his chest and worked them under his jacket, smoothing around to his back. She bit into his bottom lip and that earned her yet another groan, followed by his tongue filling her mouth.

Acting a part, acting a part. Not enjoying this at all. Nope, nooooope.

People were in the room. Someone was barking questions in Spanish. Marc ignored them, and the hand on her ass suddenly moved and grabbed her thigh, yanking her leg up to his hip. She made a big show of pulling his belt apart, all while his mouth moved down her neck, leaving sloppy wet kisses in its wake. His hands were back at her chest and buttons flew as he yanked open her blouse. One hand went down the top of her tank, and suddenly Lily didn’t care that they had an audience. Marc was touching her again, that was all that mattered.

Excuse me!” a voice barked out. “You cannot be in here. You go now.”

Marc’s free hand began rooting around in his pocket, and he pulled out a handful of pesos. He held them out to the nearest guard.

“We go in twenty minutes,” he panted, shoving the money into an open hand.

“Twenty minutes? Jesus, that’s disappointing,” she gave a husky laugh, then moaned when the hand on her breast squeezed.

“Alright. Twenty minutes. We come back, and you leave room,” they were warned.

But neither of them could answer, as their mouths met again and their tongues moved against each other.

Her mind had registered the length of time since he’d left her, but her body didn’t notice it at all. It recognized his touch as if they’d been together just the day before; like no time had passed. It made it all even worse. Her brain had done a good job of pretending it was over him. But her body had longed for him for six months. Had missed him. Hadn’t understood why he’d left.

That thought brought her to her senses, and Lily abruptly shoved him away. They were both breathing hard. Marc’s pants were undone and Lily’s blouse was hanging open. Her matte red lipstick was smeared across his mouth and chin. She took a deep breath and smoothed her hands over her hips.

“Okay, we need to figure this out, right now,” she told him.

“Alright,” he agreed, though he seemed a little dazed. She resisted the urge to smirk.

“I didn’t come here for you. Nothing I’ve done in the last six months has been for you,” she lied. “You’re not a part of this. You were never a part of this, except for a couple weeks in Africa. I will not let you ruin this for me again, De Sant. When we walk out of this room, you’re going to leave the house, and I’m going to finish this job.”

Marc’s daze wore off and he glared as he put his pants back to rights.

“I’ve been a part of this since the moment you opened that safe, and you know it. What do you think I’ve been doing this whole time? Fucking vacationing? I’m not exactly getting paid for this shit.”

“No one asked you to do any of this shit. You just took it upon yourself. You just ran away and decided to solve a problem that wasn’t even any of your business.”

He flinched and Lily smiled.

“I thought you’d understand,” he grumbled, glancing in a mirror that was behind her. He yanked off his bow tie and used it to wipe at lipstick around his mouth.

“Then you thought wrong.”

Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since …, forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

Review: Sprinkled ( Lacey Luzzi #1) By: Gina LaManna

So I found this author through a recommended post on Facebook and checked out her page. Imagine my surprise when I find a hidden treasure like Sprinkled! (Facebook’s algorithm actually gets it right WHAAA?! That like never happens) I haven’t loved a Book series this hard since Jan of this year when I discovered the Unspoken Series by Marilyn Grey. This series has it all! Lots of hilerious hinjinks, a best friend who will do anything for you (including tase someone!) a mysterious stranger who sparks a romantic interest and Family!

If I gave someone a list of attributes to craft me a perfect series that would grab my attention then you would have the Lacey Luzzi series! Its fresh and funny and somewhat like the Stephanie Plum series (the early ones though back when they were still fresh and exciting) Lacey reminds me of well. . . me Haha My great grandfather was quite a bit like Carlos and my great grandma and grandma are a lot like Nora. So I know how this family dynamic works.

The farther we get into this story the plot twists just keep on coming and it is one wild ride of an ending! You laugh (because Let’s face it Lacey has some of the worst luck!) you bite your fingernails because things get really intense and you are gonna have questions and jaw dropping moments.  And once you get to the last few pages you thank your lucky stars because you binge bought most of the other books in this series! I could not get enough. I can see Lacey becoming one of my top ten favorite series of all time!
