How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

THE PIXIE

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland’s most infamous rugby player, Lucy can’t seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother’s frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she’s down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

THE PLAYER

Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute… or so he’s been told. Frequently. By everyone.

His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world’s second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy’s big brother leave him cold. And when he’s cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

THE PLAN

Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I’ll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world—and Lucy’s big brother in particular—that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

L.H. Cosway

L.H. Cosway has a BA in English Literature and Greek and Roman Civilisation, and an MA in Postcolonial Literature. She lives in Dublin city. Her inspiration to write comes from music. Her favorite things in life include writing stories, vintage clothing, dark cabaret music, food, musical comedy, and of course, books.

She thinks that imperfect people are the most interesting kind. They tell the best stories.

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).

By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.

"I want to know your secrets.” I walk to the sink and drop the dishes in, waiting.

Skyler leans against the wall and crosses her arms. “Oh yeah? In poker or in life?”

I tuck my hands in my pockets and shrug, my eyes locked on hers. “Both.”

She stays there for a while, smiling and scrutinizing me at the same time. Suddenly, her face falls, and I feel the same resistance from earlier stretch between us like a tense rubber band. “I should probably go,” she says, lifting from the wall.

I check my watch. “Why don’t we go watch the sunrise? It’ll be up in twenty minutes.”

Skyler chews her cheek, her foot tapping on the floor. “I don’t know, I think this would be a lot easier if I left now.”

I shake my head, walking toward her. “What do you mean by this?”

She goes to back up but hits the wall. “This. Us. I just, I don’t think we should get caught up. I have to focus on poker this semester and you’re pledging. It would just be easier if we didn’t complicate things.”

I keep walking until our chests touch and place my hands on the wall around her head, my face inches from hers. Her breath hitches in her throat, but her bright blue eyes don’t leave mine.

“Baby, you made me lick tequila off you the first night we met. This is nothing if not complicated.”

Brady…

What the hell do I know about raising a baby? Nothing. Not a goddamn thing.

Yet here I am, the sole guardian of my niece. I’d be lost if it weren’t for Katherine, the beautiful girl who seems to have all the answers. Katherine, who’s slowly finding her way into my cynical heart.

I keep reminding myself that I can’t fall for someone when we don’t have a future. But telling myself this lie and believing it are two different things.

 Katherine…

When Brady shows up on a Harley, looking like an avenging angel—six feet, three inches of chiseled muscle, eyes the color of wild sage, and sun-kissed skin emblazoned with tattoos—I’m not sure if I should fall at his feet or run like hell. Because if I tell him what happened the night his family died, he might hate me.

What I don’t count on are the nights we spend together trying to forget the heartache that brought us here. I promise him it won’t mean anything, that I won’t fall in love.

 I shouldn’t make promises I can’t keep.

Shameless

is an adult contemporary romance/spinoff featuring a character from The

What a magical first book in a new series by one of my absolutely favorite authors! With Hex On The Beach Gina introduces us to a whole new world were magic not only exists but is practiced everyday by those who have the talent anyway 😉  (and often with items we may interact with everyday, something as simple as a pencil may wipe your entire memory of magical events! I always said the pen is mightier than the sword!)

Lilly thinks she has it all going for her, a upcoming huge presentation for her job, great friends and her dad. . . Not much other family around but she kinda figures that’s how it is can’t change it. In the course of a few hours on what is supposed to be a triumphant day it all changes! (In a hilarious way might i add!) And she realizes her family legacy and how magic flows in her veins and she must take her place in a family she knew nothing about. (In a magical place she knew nothing about) how’s that for an intense day? I mean I have had some earth shaking life changing days in my life but umm. . . Lilly has me beat by a mile!

We gradually meet this entire cast of magical characters and they are all a little quirky haha but they are among some of the most intriguing I have read in a long time! I love Gina’s take on all of these magical people, we get a vampire, a shifter, witches of a sort and they each have very different personalities and seem to coexist fine in this small town environment. I love all of the characters but Lilly’s grandmother Hettie is one of my absolute favorites, her character description reminds me of Nora from Gina’s Lacey Luzzi series on steroids haha. Upon meeting her granddaughter for the first time she has

This gigglesnort worthy moment

“It’s a sundress,” I said. “Supplied by my new closet here.”“It’s a baby-making dress. You’re practically walking around inviting half the town to frolic underneath your frock.”“Mother!” Mimsey jumped in” looking appalled. “Stop it. She looks beautiful, and the dress is completely respectable.”“Oh, I know, I’m just kidding. I was just about to ask where I can get one of them,” Hettie said. “It’d be nice to flaunt these ol’ legs of mine.”

She just states what is on her mind and you get her total honest opinion haha I love characters like that! The mystery deepens and gets more and more involved where you don’t know who is friend or foe and the grand reveal in true mystery novel fashion leaves you with a sense of shocked amazement that you didn’t see it coming because it all makes perfect sense *facepalm*

Now its not all mysteries and danger and family togetherness . . . We also get a smidge of romantic tension with a guy who is wrapped up in all sorts of riddles about who he is and where he comes from. Ranger X is commited to his job which is sort of like a police officer or FBI agent on the Isle and they are not allowed to form relationships. . . And of course when someone tells you that you can’t do something that’s what you can’t stop thinking about and the chemistry and tension between Lilly and Ranger X is pretty intense haha its gonna be interesting to see where book 2 in this series takes us. The epilogue of this book sets up book 2 perfectly in my opinion and gives us a peek of what we may see. For the first book in a new series it was jam packed with everything you could possibly ask for in a 5 star read!

This book junk punches you right in the feels and is unrelenting throughout the rest of the book! I adore Lex’s writing and this is my absolute favorite of hers hands down! Brady and Katherine’s story is as intense as they are and I loved every minute of it!

They meet under pretty much the worst circumstances and this story’s underlying theme is rising from the ashes and then rebuilding. They both have difficult things they are trying to deal with in their pasts and I love how they have the shared task of helping their families out. The sense of family in this book is almost its own character and it helps blend the story together.

The setting is simply stunning and in this story it really highlights Lex’s descriptive writing style to its perfect level, later in the acknowledgements she tells the reader her personal connection to this area and it all makes sense, she writes about the area like its an old friend. There is a passion there that she wants us to see this place and appreciate it fully. I love hearing all the little details about the farm and animals haha especially Bandit!

Now let’s get back to Brady and Kat! Holy smoking Kindle Batman! Their chemistry is off the charts from the first

Time she gets snarky with him at the front door and I remember thinking ohhh Brady has met his match! Haha then you get all the layers of their relationship and its a push and pull for them to finally act on their feelings but once they do. . . Its hotter than a Texas summer (and for those of you who haven’t experienced one of those its HOT!) But as equally hot they are also pretty adorable together when they are just taking care of Izzy or doing the farm chores. They really seem like best friends and lovers which is nice to read about. They have this level of respect and even though Brady is an total Alpha he is never degrading or makes light of Kat’s contribution. If anything he makes it out like he could not have made it without her and that taking care of Izzy and the farm is a exercise in team work haha. Made for lots of adorable moments.

The last few chapters before the epilogue get even more like an emotional roller coaster! I wanted to shake them, hug them, cry and commiserate with them . . .etc but with the epilogue we get sweet resolution that you can’t miss! This belongs on any top ten reads of the year list. I know it is definitely on mine.

They say in order to find yourself you have to go home.

What if home was what you’re running from?

Where did that leave you?

Always on the other side of the fence.

Always looking in.

Always wishing you were someone you couldn’t be.

Until one day you meet her.

The one.

She was my high, but she was also…

My demise.

Colors

blended together making it hard to focus on one thing. I blinked a few times

and just like that…

I

saw her face.

As

if she was standing right in front of me.

Smiling.

Happy.

Laughing.

My

whole world…

My

girl.

I

felt my lips curl up slightly at the vision as I reached out for her. Wanting

to touch her, needing to hold her, yearning to kiss her. Craving, God, craving

to fucking love her.

“I’m

sorry,” I murmured out loud to no one but the illusion of my drug-infested

mind. “I’m so fucking sorry,” I repeated repentantly, longing for her to

believe me.

Aching

for her to love me again like she used to.

I

don’t know how long I sat there, staring at her beautiful face before my eyes,

subconsciously rubbing the tattooed key that was placed over my heart. I

couldn’t take it anymore, and the desire won over the haze.

It

was too powerful.

It

was too vivid.

I

grabbed my phone. “Baby,” I said into the speaker. The ringing quickly

followed, going straight to voicemail. I hung up and tried again. “Baby,” I

urged with desperation in my tone.

Still

nothing.

I

tried again and again and again.

I

would try until the end of time if that’s what it took for her to answer.

To

talk to me.

To

save me.

To

crave me.

Time

just seemed to standstill, as my life slowly played out in front of me. Trying

to balance in between the light and the darkness when all I could see was gray.

“What?!”

she screamed into the phone, finally answering after I don’t know how many

failed attempts. “What the hell do you want now?”

“Mi

cielo.” I breathed a sigh of relief.

She ignored

my term of endearment. I hadn’t called her that in such a long time.

My

heaven.

“What

do you want, Austin? Why are you calling me? We’re over! I can’t do this

anymore!”

I

shut my eyes and let my mind wonder, allowing it to go to another place in time

where she didn’t hate me.

“I

remember the first time I made you smile,” I chuckled, as if it had just

happened.

My

nerves were on fire. The mere sound of her breathing through the phone was too

intense for me. I licked my lips, my mouth suddenly dry.

“I

remember when you used to smile just for me. Do you remember, baby? Do you

remember what my love feels like?”

I

heard her faintly breathing.

“Do

you remember my hands on you? My lips? My tongue? The first time I made you

come with my mouth? Do you remember all the times since? Tell me I’m not

forgotten. Tell me you remember, baby.”

Silence.

“I

love you, Briggs. I love you so fucking much. You’re killing me, don’t you see

that? I’m dying without you.”

“No,

Austin. You were dying with me,” she rasped, knowing that it killed her to say

that.

“The

first time I saw your face, I thought to myself, damn, this beautiful girl is

goin’ to be the death of me. You were perfect in every way. I was a cocky son

of a bitch who needed you then, as much as I need you now.”

More

silence.

“I

had a dream about you, baby. I always fucking dream about you. In my dream you

had a ring on your finger. A ring I put there. You belonged to me. Only mine.

Forever fucking mine. You were pregnant, Briggs. You looked so goddamn happy. I

saw light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in years.”

She

sniffled into the phone.

“I

made love to you. Slow, just the way you love. Taking my time to touch every

last inch of your body. Memorizing every last bit of you. Making you come until

you begged me to stop. I didn’t.”

“I

can’t—” she tried to interject, but I didn’t let up.

“I

kissed your stomach. Our baby. Letting my lips linger there, whispering sweet

lullabies, letting her know daddy will always be there. Baby, it was so real.

For a second I gave you the one thing you so desperately wanted, the one thing

I can’t give you.”

In the game of love, everyone roots for the underdog. You know, that girl-next-door type who wears glasses and has a shy smile and who falls for the most popular boy in school…she’s the hero of every story. And when the shy girl takes off her glasses and the quarterback kisses her and the crowd roars and the movie fades to black, people sit back and are satisfied.

But what about the cheerleader? The one he dumps at the fifty-yard line and the one who runs off the field humiliated and sobbing? What about her feelings? What about her?

He Loves Me Not tells the story of what happens after the cheerleader is denied her fairy tale ending. Maggie's life was perfect–she had perfect friends, perfect parents, and a perfect boyfriend. But when she's abruptly dumped in front of the entire county by that perfect boyfriend, her life falls apart. With her clique, her friends, and her social standing obliterated, Maggie is resigned to a lonely, humiliating senior year of high school.

…at least until she meets AJ Abbott, a musician who breaks every rule her mother ever taught her. He has no college degree. He wants to be a rockstar. He wears entirely too much black and leather.

But despite their differences, Maggie is slowly drawn into AJ's rock and roll lifestyle, and she'll be forced to choose which is more important–clinging to her nonexistent popularity or learning that maybe there's more to her than her beauty queen tiaras and cheerleader pom-poms.

Looking back, Bobby hadn’t acted that different that day, or even that week. The first weird thing had happened at lunch a few weeks later. Maggie and her friends had been all sitting at their usual table with Tommy, Abby and Artie Souter—identical twins who looked like matching blond supermodels—Caroline, who was her best friend in the world, and a few other assorted football players and cheerleaders.

Maggie snapped her can of Diet Coke open, watching Bobby shovel tacos down his throat with envy. She was monitoring her calorie intake like a chicken hawk observing a pen full of hens. Not only was this new cheerleading uniform making her incredibly aware of her figure, but her homecoming dress had accidentally been ordered in a size zero—where Maggie normally wore a two—and there wasn’t enough time to buy a new dress that half the school hadn’t already rejected in their own shopping trips.

To distract herself from the gnawing pain in her stomach, Maggie took another bite of her dressing free salad and chewed slowly, pretending it was pizza. God, she loved pizza so much. It’d been years since she’d had it.

“Bobby, what was with that weird girl talking to you after Chem yesterday?” Caroline asked, her Boston accent softened after spending her entire high school career down in South Carolina. Maggie and Caroline had met in gymnastics class in middle school, and they’d bonded over their love of country music, cheerleading, and carb-free diets.

“Her name’s Chloe, and she’s actually really nice,” Bobby replied evenly.

Maggie remembered Chloe from one of her English classes. The girl never spoke to anyone other than the teacher, and once she had read a poem that had lots of references to the dark wings of ravens. It was all very strange. And she wore way too much black. Okay, and the real kicker was that Chloe had laughed at her a few weeks ago when Maggie had written an essay about how the proudest moment of her life was winning Miss Dixie Bell last year.

“I just don’t understand people like her,” Maggie started to say, flattening her hand on her stomach as it growled loudly. Hopefully no one had heard. “Like, it’s just so selfish to be so grumpy all the time. Everyone hurts. Everyone has bad things happen to them. Maybe people should just focus on the wonderful things in their lives and stop dwelling on the negativity.”

“Here, here, Maggie May!” Tommy raised his can of Coke over his head. The entire table laughed.

Giggling, Maggie continued. She was on a roll. “And, I mean, really, bless her heart, but how is that much black flattering on anyone’s complexion? Maybe we can give her a makeover!” Maggie loved makeovers. They were the best. Maybe they could take her shopping and help her do her makeup and—

Just then, Maggie heard a sharp intake of breath behind her. When she turned, she saw a girl with pale skin and long dark hair standing behind them. It was Chloe. Why did she look so upset? Maybe she didn’t hear the “bless her heart” part. Everyone knew that saying “bless her heart” balanced out anything negative that followed because it originated in a good place. Her momma always said that people needed a good dose of the truth, but they needed to know it came from the heart.

“I just—I just wanted—here. Here’s your half of the outline.” Chloe’s sharp voice matched her movements as she shoved a piece of paper into Bobby’s hand and then turned to rush back inside the school. Maggie had examined her closely in those ten seconds, trying to make sense of a girl who seemed to think black eye shadow was appropriate for the entire eyelid. The only spot anyone needed black eye shadow was in the outer crease of their eyelid and even then, it should be blended to near oblivion.  Her momma considered black eye shadow appropriate only for strippers and rock star groupies.

The table fell silent for a minute. Maggie’s mouth curved into a nervous smile. Bobby’s green eyes cut in her direction. “Really, Maggie? That was mean of you.”

Maggie had never heard Bobby use that tone with her, and she wasn’t sure how to respond. Her chest tightened. “I wasn’t trying to be mean. I was just talking in general…like, how Momma always says that you should look your best so others are happy to…” She trailed off, shrinking under the disappointment in Bobby’s eyes.

She didn’t want Chloe to think she was being mean for no reason. Maybe Maggie needed to go chase her down and explain. “You know what? I’ll just go apologize—” Maggie stood up to follow her, but Bobby interrupted again.

Instead of the sharp tone he’d just used, now he sounded tired. “Don’t worry about it. Let me go talk to her.” He smiled, but it was a weird smile. Like it didn’t reach all the way up to his eyes.

Maggie tried to smile back, but she couldn’t get her lips to lift. “Are you sure? I can just go and—”

“It’s fine, Maggie. I’ll be back in a few.” Bobby stood up to walk away, and then he stopped and came back to squeeze her shoulder. Normally he’d say goodbye with at least a little kiss, but his grip on her shoulder was more how he interacted with the football team. Maggie didn’t like the feelings it brought, so she focused on his beautiful eyes, chiseled features, and sweet smile, and she thought he had the kind of face a girl could look at the rest of her life and be happy.

That was the day she began to lose him.

AJ’s obsession pays off when the band meets with record executives in New York City, and Nyx meets her half-brother Jeremy. Reuniting with long lost family is complicated enough (especially a long lost family who are tabloid staples), but Nyx never expected to meet Tristan.

See, Jeremy happens to be best friends with the gorgeous, arrogant Tristan Halifax, an A-Lister with a penchant for beautiful women. Nyx and Tristan might experience love at first sight, but rock star ex-boyfriends are hard to forget—especially when they keep writing chart topping love songs dedicated to her red lipstick.

Overnight, Nyx becomes America’s Sweetheart—scandalizing parties, frolicking with Manhattan’s Golden Boys, and being hounded by photographers. Sure, it’s fun, but then the press starts turning nasty—jeopardizing her relationship with Tristan, ruining her reputation, and discovering her old skeletons. Plus, there’s AJ, who’s suddenly morphed into a great guy, and now is fighting to reignite their high school romance.

Celebrities are supposed to have it all, right? Money. Looks. Love. But suddenly, a downward spiral doesn’t seem all that unrealistic, and Nyx will have to decide what’s more important–her new infamous lifestyle or her familiar small-town roots.

I first became hooked and wanting to devour this book in the typical bookworm fashion after I read the blurb and my first thought was “okay I’m totally in!” I am constantly on the lookout for books that are a little quirky and that challenge the status quo haha one of the hazards of reading so many books a year is that you may read the exact same setup 50 times! With this one just as Tierney writes in the blurb what happens when its the cheerleader and all around golden queen of the high school gets a reality check? And the answer to that one is *insert ominous forboding music here* . . . Haha just kidding! You get a comedic tour du force that has to be read to be believed!

Maggie has every thing going for her- more southern charm than Reese Witherspoon, a family who is well off financially, a spectacular GPA and a boyfriend who is the star of the Football team and looking at Division 1 prospects for college. She thinks life could not get any better! And then she gets the hugest reality check of her life when Bobby ends their relationship right before they are crowned Homecoming King and Queen and goes to make out with this new girl who wears a lot of black and heavier makeup (okay so basically me in high school!)

Rightly so Maggie is crushed! I mean her and Bobby have been together since Kindergarten so its been a LONG time, after this crushing moment we get to see what Maggie is really made of! Even ladies who are out of their teen years can relate to Maggie so this story is so much more than just a teen novel haha her struggle to reinvent herself after being part of a couple for so long is both hilarious in ways and incredibly brave and touching and something I could definitely relate to myself even though i’m a little past high school age haha.

There are many moments to where you are pleading with Maggie to just keep going and cheering her on, there are times to where you want to shake her momma because she is a little too tied up in apperances and giving Mags a diet and pushing no carb diets (there is nothing wrong with being healthy but it seems that at least at the beginning that  Maggie is under a lot of pressure to look perfect to uphold the family name) but through all these moments you stay engrossed in this story. For me it was one I couldn’t put down once I got started! It would be the perfect vacation, beach read or a excellent book club read for your group of friends.
