LATE POST! Release Blitz! Enchanting Wilder By: Cassie Graham

Title: Enchanting Wilder

Series: Wild #1

Author: Cassie Graham

Release Date: July 28, 2016

Declan Wilder has never met a witch he didn’t hate. He is in the business of protecting the world from all things paranormal, after all. But what happens when one glimpse at an enchanting McKenna Sawyer sends him spinning? Suddenly, Declan can’t help but question everything he thought he knew about the world he’s been sworn to protect for so long.

Plagued by her parents’ death, McKenna Sawyer has no interest in anything outside of her family’s business and her sister’s happiness. So when she’s assigned to warn a Pursuer about his impending death, she’s less than prepared for the way he shifts her world on its axis. And when more time spent with him leads to more secrets about their world revealed, they must decide how their universes fit together — if at all.

The paranormal world is gearing up for a fight, and both Declan and McKenna have been called to battle. But the question remains — will they be fighting for or against each other?

Crickets chirp in the distance and I wonder if they’ll ever hold the same mundane significance they did before. They used to be irrelevant, unimportant creatures. But now? I can’t imagine a world without them. They’re the soundtrack to a kiss that brought me back to the land of the living. Everything I’ve wanted—everything I’ve needed—is being laid out in front of me by Declan. His passion overwhelms me, and for the first time in my life, my sense of self is overflowing. I no longer feel the need to second-guess my desires.

Every kiss, every stroke of his tongue with mine brings me closer to who I’m supposed to be. It feels as if I’ve been waiting my entire life to find someone to kiss me like this. So passionately—full of want and need.

Declan takes hold of me gently, placing both hands on the side of my face. He slows his pace, and pulls away, kissing my nose.

I’m panting with fervor and smile when his green eyes look into mine.

Declan lowers his voice. “That was…”

I nod, still gasping for air. “It was.”

Release Blitz: Veiled By: Karina Halle

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Lie and The Pact comes a new romance that will test your limits and leave you breathless.

It’s something that Ada Palomino has always known so well, having grown up in a house of horrors, surrounded by a family plagued by ghosts and demons and things that go bump in the night.

But after the sudden and tragic death of her mother two years ago, death has never felt so personal.

Or so close.

Now eighteen, Ada is trying to move on with her life and the last month of summer holds nothing but sunshine and promises with her first year at a Portland design school just around the bend.

That is until her increasingly violent and realistic dreams, dreams of other worlds, of portals and veils where her mother is tortured and souls bleed for mercy, start to blend into reality. Ada has to lean on her older sister, Perry, to try and make sense of it all but even then, she’s never felt more alone.

Then there’s Jay. Tall, handsome and deeply mysterious, Jay would be just another stranger, a familiar face on the bus, if it wasn’t for the fact that Ada has met him before.

Every night.

In every single dream.

And the more that Ada is drawn to him in both worlds, the more she’s in danger of losing everything.

Including her heart.

And her very soul.

Then, out of nowhere:

“You looked beautiful tonight, by the way.”

Oh jeez. Be still my fucking heart.

I try and swallow, his words, the sincerity in his voice rocking my world off-balance. “Which part? When the power went out or when Jacob went upstairs to fight a demon?” I joke. But I joke because I’m feeling this a little too much.

“All of it. You know why I call you Princess?” he asks, his tone graver than before, like he’s letting me in on a very deep secret.

“Because I’m a spoiled brat?”

“Because you’re beautiful.”

Well that shut me up. The sentence hangs in the air, larger than life.

He clears his throat and goes on and I have to fight against the urge to roll over and face him. “You have this way about you. You don’t see it. But I do. Like you’re born royalty. The way you hold yourself. Your walk. The face of an angel.”

Butterflies take flight in my gut, spreading through my veins until my whole body feels like its floating. “Why are you being so nice to me? Am I going to die?”

He laughs softly. “I don’t know why I’m saying these things. Just seemed like the things to say. You’re destined for something great, Ada, I know this. And it’s an honor to help see you through it.”

His words cascade down on me like ashes from a fire. Where they land, I’m ignited.

Jay thinks I’m beautiful.

And more than that, he believes in me.

Silence settles over us, stealing time. I hear him breathing in the dark, steady as a heartbeat. He might even be sleeping.

But I can’t even begin to shut down. My entire body, from the top of my scalp, down to my toes, is buzzing with heat and electricity. It’s like everything I felt for him before, everything I try to ignore, is coming out in full force, responding to his words, to his body so close to mine. I can feel the warmth at my back, sinking into my spine, just from his presence only.

I’m starting to have feelings for him. Not just in a he’s a giant hulking beast who’s here to protect me from the underworld way. But real feelings, slowly creeping into my heart, day by day.

The thought is terrifying in the same way that demons are terrifying.

They both might take possession of me.

They both might ruin me.

And I’m not sure how much of me I’ll have left.

Q: Is this YA?

A: No. The main character is 18 and there is sex, crude language and violence in the book. It is recommended for mature teens or 18 and up.

Q: Is there a cliffhanger?

A: Nope! There’s also no cheating and no love triangle (think I’ve covered the bases there!)

Q: Do I need to read the series (Experiment in Terror) that Veiled is a spinoff of first?

A: Absolutely not. Veiled stands alone. You do not need to have read the EIT series beforehand as this follows a different character (Ada Palomino) and a different storyline. However for those who have read EIT, all your favorites are in the book!

Q: Is it horror? Your other series was and I don’t handle scary very well…

A: No, it’s paranormal romance (though I promise you there are no vampires or werewolves), and while there are creepy elements to the story, it wouldn’t be classified as horror. If you can read KMM’s Fever Series or ANY urban fantasy, you’ll be fine.

It is at this time that I am extremely glad I saved Hook to read until Burn came out because that cliffhanger y’all! Good grief, it was intense and my adrenalin was pumping and then all of a sudden the ground was snatched out from under me and then the book was over! And i’m all “WTF! did that actually happen?!” I got to my copy of Burn in record time let me tell you and immediately dug in and continued the unorthodox love story that is Emily and Marco.

The story picks up immediately from where we left off in Hook and we see the events from Marco’s POV and this was a powerful way to begin the story, it was a different POV than we had seen in Hook so I loved that Elizabeth didn’t take the easy way out and just copy and paste the same scene that we had read previously, she gave us something new and it was brilliant! I loved this passage because it really sets up the story for us.

“Someone was going to pay. The metamorphosis from man to monster occurred in that precise moment. Something inside me unfurled, and the more hate I fed it, the stronger it became. The beast was growing, feeding off the despair raging through my blood, and I welcomed it. I would need that part of myself I always suspected existed somewhere deep down inside of me. A part I’d been able to keep at bay until now. I would need the beast to bring retribution to Emily’s doorstep.”

His conflict has always been a fight between the good and evil parts of his personality and this moment breaks him and then all bets are off for vengeance will be his! His and Emily’s relationship has taken a dark turn and for a while I was afraid for them (she’s angry, understandably so!) But they are both fighting for the same cause to bring Vito and his men to justice. I loved how we got chapters from Marco and Emily’s POV, it heightened the drama so much and made the story flow a lot better since there are much darker elements in this book versus the first.

Gradually in the course of the story the mystery begins to unravel and after it is solved then Marco and Emily have to begin to repair their relationship. . . Its a tough road after what happened and even though Marco promised to be truthful from here on out I could see why Emily was hesitant to just jump right back in to their relationship. Toward the end of the story we find out that the explosive reveals are not finished yet! And this one is a doozy!

While this story does have a little less urgency and tension than the first its still a solid story and wraps things up nicely. There are no loose ends or questions that I wish were answered. Its all wrapped up in a pretty little bow.

This was a book I have heard people raving about, I knew that I had to read it and see what the fuss was about, from the blurb I thought “okay, so this is gonna be another dark romance novel. . .” But it is so much more! There are layers upon layers to this story. Its more than just a basic she’s an escort and he’s in a dangerous profession and boom insta love! Haha not even close!

From the prologue we immediately find out this is not gonna be your basic run of the mill romance novel and the story picks up from there! There are moments thay really broke my heart, Emily is doing whatever she can to take care of her son, being a mom to a child with special needs is a tough job and those women need to have statues built in their honor because they are truly heroes. Emily does what she does so she can afford all of Daniel’s medical needs and is saving up to accomplish her dream of opening a center for other families affected by Muscular Dystrophy. Such an inspiring dream but she’s not quite able to realize that dream yet.

She gets a new booking and meets up with Marco and holy romantic tension Batman! Their chemistry sizzles from the first meeting, he’s like a hotter version of Michael Corelone. Suave, smooth, calculating and authoritative. Emily has this attraction to him which is rare and it throws her off that he can affect her that way.

As their relationship progresses, certain business associates of Marco’s have taken notice of Emily and the danger factor is kicked in high gear! Marco’s alpha male protective side gets a chance to shine through and when it all comes down to the pulse pounding end we are left wanting to know just one thing. . . How’s it all gonna end?

Review: Gilt: By Invitation Only (Gilt #1) By: Geneva Lee

Review: GILT: By Invitation Only By: Geneva Lee

I have had books by Geneva on my TBR list forever! Haha but when I saw the cover of this one and read the blurb I was all in, rearranged my list to bump this one to the top before the second book released. I am so glad I did! Its one of those books that could become the next great angsty summer TV show! There is drama, a lot of mystery, an elitist group of kids who have money and privilege and think that they rule the world,  a down to earth heroine who is going through so much but still manages to slap a smile on her face and carry on! Not since Gossip Girl has prep school been so schmexy 😉

Emma is trying to move on from the tragic death of her sister, keep things going at home with an alcoholic father and navigate the world of Belle Mere Prep. Not an easy task by any means let me tell you. With her bestie Josie at her side they head out into the glittering heart of Las Vegas and begin a journey that will end up changing them both. Geneva blends all of my favorite elements (Awesome locations, secrets, angst, romance, girl power and snark) that you never want to put this book down.

A long held family feud between Emma’s father and Belle Mere’s resident mean girl queen’s father gives us the set up for a pretty dramatic conflict (that’s putting it mildly!) But after being told to leave the massive end of year party thrown by Monroe, Emma wanders around the penthouse and meets a mysterious stranger and they share a moment. . . Lo and behold the next morning a murder mystery is front page news after a discovery of a body in the penthouse and Emma’s mystery man is the prime suspect!

With all of the suspense of books like Pretty Little Liars and the elitist world of the uber rich like Gossip Girl this series is flawless! It leaves you flipping pages and wanting to unwrap the mystery! I love this series so much! Its one of my can’t miss reads of the summer and one that is on my desperately need a print copy because I know I will be rereading this series so much! Its that good!

Review: Finding Home (A Club Dark Novel) By: Reagan Hollow

Review: Finding Home (Club Dark #1) By: Reagan Hollow

Lacey has experienced one tragedy and life shake up after another and is still trying to persevere through everything. After being betrayed by her fiance and best friend she decides that a change of scenery is what she needs. So she finds a listing by a woman looking for a roommate. Lacey contacts her and arranges to move in. (She didn’t do a lot of checking into the situation, which is kinda scary haha but that kind of sets up the story)

Amber (Lacey’s roommate) is employed at this very hush hush gentleman’s club which from the outside observer looks like many others but it has a darker side. While still settling in Amber invites Lacey to tag along one night while she is working and then the next thing Lacey knows is she is waking up and feels a little disoriented. Experiencing every woman’s nightmare she has been dosed while in the club. Luckily she has a guardian angel in the form of Cory who vows to figure out who is trying to harm her at all costs.

The story takes a darker turn when Lacey sees a face she recognizes on the security footage. That was one jaw dropping reveal and the surprises don’t stop there! The rest of the novel is one shocking twist after another. Along the way Lacey begins to rebuild herself and discovers the knowledge that she is stronger than she realizes. Her relationship with Cory blossoms and it balances out the darker moments nicely.

Everything comes into focus in the last couple of chapters but the story does end with a pretty big cliffhanger so hopefully we get the continuation of this story soon! All in all I thought this was a pretty solid debut novel. I will definitely be one clicking the next one.
