This was a book I have heard people raving about, I knew that I had to read it and see what the fuss was about, from the blurb I thought “okay, so this is gonna be another dark romance novel. . .” But it is so much more! There are layers upon layers to this story. Its more than just a basic she’s an escort and he’s in a dangerous profession and boom insta love! Haha not even close!

From the prologue we immediately find out this is not gonna be your basic run of the mill romance novel and the story picks up from there! There are moments thay really broke my heart, Emily is doing whatever she can to take care of her son, being a mom to a child with special needs is a tough job and those women need to have statues built in their honor because they are truly heroes. Emily does what she does so she can afford all of Daniel’s medical needs and is saving up to accomplish her dream of opening a center for other families affected by Muscular Dystrophy. Such an inspiring dream but she’s not quite able to realize that dream yet.

She gets a new booking and meets up with Marco and holy romantic tension Batman! Their chemistry sizzles from the first meeting, he’s like a hotter version of Michael Corelone. Suave, smooth, calculating and authoritative. Emily has this attraction to him which is rare and it throws her off that he can affect her that way.

As their relationship progresses, certain business associates of Marco’s have taken notice of Emily and the danger factor is kicked in high gear! Marco’s alpha male protective side gets a chance to shine through and when it all comes down to the pulse pounding end we are left wanting to know just one thing. . . How’s it all gonna end?
